Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. This is a senior-level role that requires expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale database systems on the Azure cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure database systems on Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Provision, configure, and manage database resources, including sizing, scaling, and automation.
  • Ensure data availability, performance, and security by implementing HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store, and identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server databases on Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
  • Experience with database security principles and implementation.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
