Cloud Database Consultant Role Overview:

This role involves developing solutions for MS SQL and Oracle on Cloud, leading delivery teams during client workshops, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders across client hierarchies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Database Architectures: Gather requirements, define database architecture for Oracle and MS SQL on Cloud through client workshops.
  • Implement Database Environments: Plan, design, implement, and maintain database environments on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3).
  • Hands-on Expertise: Installation & Configuration, Schema handling, User and Security Management, Backup & Restore, and Database Administration for MS SQL & Oracle.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Server Security, DR Replication monitoring/configuration, High Availability (HA), Failover, and Replication.
  • Optimize Database Structures: Ensure data integrity, performance, and security by developing and optimizing database structures.
  • Implement Tools and Scripts: Implement MS SQL & Oracle-related tools; write scripts for automation; perform advanced database performance tuning.
  • HA Architecture: Set up MS SQL & Oracle in HA architecture.
  • Backup Strategies: Plan and implement backup strategies (including scripting) following best practices.
  • Integration Support: Provide integration support with third-party monitoring systems.
  • Administer Environments: Administer Linux and Windows environments for database deployments.
  • Technological Familiarity: Virtual Machines (AWS EC2) and container technologies (Docker).
  • Consultative Techniques: Engage with clients and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solutioning for 3-tier Architectures: Lead solutioning for 3-tier architectures and ensure compliance with contractual SLAs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Database Developer/Consultant.
  • Performance Analysis: Expert in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • Consulting Skills: Excellent consulting, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Team Environment: Ability to excel in a cohesive team environment.
