Senior Accounting Specialist: Revenue Recognition

The primary function of a Revenue Recognition Senior Associate is to guarantee that the revenue recognition process adheres to the appropriate accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze contracts thoroughly to verify revenue recognition conformity with relevant accounting principles.
  • Prepare and submit monthly journal entries related to revenue and associated accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual external audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain internal relationships within the organization, including Operations, General Ledger Accounting, IT, etc., through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform various ad hoc revenue analysis and reporting tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Commerce or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably in revenue accounting.
  • Prior experience in Public Accounting and/or professional services or IT industry is highly beneficial.
  • Certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or pursuing either certification, is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
