Process Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Process Design Engineer to support our process design, simulation, and documentation efforts.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering and experience in process design engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Develop and optimize flow chemistry and batch processes for scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
  • Perform process design calculations (heat & mass balance, reaction kinetics, equipment sizing, pressure drop, mixing, and scale-up parameters).
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support process safety assessments (HAZOP, risk analysis, safety studies).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust process design.
  • Evaluate new technologies and propose innovative solutions for continuous manufacturing applications.
  • Provide process engineering support during pilot plant and commercial scale-up.
  • Work with vendors for equipment selection and specification preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and EHS standards in process design.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years of proven experience in process design engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on expertise in flow chemistry and batch process design.
  • Strong knowledge of process design tools and calculations (heat/mass transfer, reaction engineering, hydraulics).
  • Experience in preparing and interpreting BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in simulation software is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of process safety is desirable.
