**Procurement Manager Role Summary**

A Procurement Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth supply chain operations of an organization. They are responsible for identifying reliable vendors, negotiating cost-effective purchases, and ensuring timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and services required for manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors for raw materials, machinery spares, consumables, and services.
  • Obtain quotations, compare price, quality, and delivery terms, and finalize purchase orders.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Vendor Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Conduct vendor performance evaluation based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment conditions.
Purchase Operations:
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in line with company policies and approvals.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production schedule.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the stores/warehouse for replenishment.
Cost Optimization:
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Benchmark prices and identify opportunities for bulk/long-term contracts.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate procurement records (POs, invoices, GRNs, contracts).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate with finance for vendor payments and reconciliations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Engineering / Management.
  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchase in a manufacturing/industrial setup.
  • Knowledge of local and international sourcing preferred.
