Migration Expert

We're seeking a highly skilled software professional to lead the migration of our legacy .NET monolith to a modern event-driven architecture using Java Spring Boot microservices.

Your primary responsibility will be to deconstruct and re-implement core functionality as resilient, scalable, and cloud-native Java services.

You'll play a key role in modernizing our event-handling stack, moving away from a central .NET message broker to a distributed system built on Google Cloud Platform.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance Java Spring Boot microservices.
  • Migrate existing .NET code that integrates with our loan servicing platform to the new Java stack.
  • Decommission our legacy .NET message broker and implement a modern event-driven system using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Build and deploy services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.
  • Analyze complex systems, identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize AI-based tools and methodologies to assist in analysis, translation, and refactoring of legacy .NET code.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, emphasizing enterprise-level systems.
  • Expert proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Professional experience with .NET (C#), demonstrated ability to read, understand, and reverse-engineer legacy codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Spanner, and/or Firestore.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Proven experience working with message brokers and event streaming platforms.
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
