Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced database professional to lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, design and manage high-availability solutions, plan and implement database migrations, monitor and optimize SQL Server performance, perform regular backups and disaster recovery testing, collaborate with application and infrastructure teams, develop and maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations. They will oversee the development of SQL Server upgrade projects, configure and manage high-availability groups, plan and implement database migrations, troubleshoot and optimize SQL Server performance, conduct regular backups and disaster recovery testing, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, create and maintain accurate documentation, and ensure adherence to industry-standard security guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • SQL Server Upgrade Projects: Oversee the planning and execution of SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • High-Availability Solutions: Design, configure, and manage high-availability solutions (HA/DR) in production environments.
  • Database Migrations: Plan and implement database migrations to cloud services with minimal downtime.
  • SQL Server Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency, and develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
