Job Description

Role:

Distribution Strategy Lead (DSL)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a distribution strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  • Achieve revenue targets through effective distribution planning.
  • Drive market leadership by growing revenue and market share while maintaining quality standards.
  • Establish a mechanism to gather competitor insights for protecting market share and increasing revenue.

Accountabilities:

Strategic:

  • Contribute to the overall sales strategy to drive profitability.
  • Set targets for the distribution channel covering business and distribution KPIs.
  • Evaluate distribution coverage, penetration, and performance to inform channel expansion strategy.
  • Plan new product launches in collaboration with Sales and Marketing Heads.

Operational:

  • Achieve circle revenue target for all products across brands.
  • Expand the distribution network by appointing and monitoring partners in new areas.
  • Provide input on COCA/incentive plans for channel partners and monitor their implementation.
  • Circle-level implementation of national initiatives.
  • Monitor SIP targets with the SEM Head.

Developmental:

  • IDentify development areas and recommend training programs/interventions for distribution personnel.
  • Collaborate with the SEM team to develop training programs for internal sales teams and distributors for new products/initiatives.
  • Identify underperforming team members and provide guidance/mentorship.
  • Best practices sharing within the circle and other circles.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Telecom/FMCG/Mass Retail Distribution industry.
  • Multi-geography team leadership experience to bring best practices.
  • Experience in distribution planning and channel strategy implementation.
  • Ability to lead channels with multiple partners of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Dynamic environment management skills.
  • Influencing skills, analytical ability, relationship management skills, and matrix organization expertise.
  • Independent thought leadership and execution drive.
