About this Role

This pivotal position is responsible for driving system architecture to meet product needs and business scale. Design and implement high-level designs, low-level designs, and technical innovations that ensure ease of maintenance and iteration.

  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Engineering Leadership to align proposed system architecture.
  • Participate in RFC discussions to ensure seamless integration with other teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain system performance metrics and evolution roadmaps.
  • Own system SLAs and capacity planning based on scale and cost estimations.
  • Mentor sizeable teams (10+ developers) and drive adoption of standardized patterns and practices.

Requirements

This role requires expertise in backend software engineering, distributed systems design, consumer-facing products, and tech stack familiarity.

  • Backend software engineering experience: years
  • Experience in designing event-driven architectures handling significant scale
  • Exposure to technologies like Ktor, Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, Java, Ruby, Javascript, Python
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Aerospike, Redis, DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift
