We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Financial Professional to join our team as an Accountant.

Job Description

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records using Excel and QuickBooks Online. This will include bookkeeping, reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis, tax compliance (GST/HST/PST, corporate tax, payroll taxes), and financial reporting. You will also be responsible for assembling working paper packages for financial statements.

You will work directly with foreign clients and gain extensive experience in Canadian accounting practices. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records using Excel and QuickBooks Online.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure tax compliance (GST/HST/PST, corporate tax, payroll taxes) in collaboration with senior advisors.
  • Financial Reporting: Assemble working paper packages for financial statements.
  • Client Onboarding: Proven experience in onboarding Canadian clients, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into our accounting systems and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. You should have experience handling multiple clients and working under pressure. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential. A good understanding of the Canadian and American accent is required for this position.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience in public practice or a Canadian accounting firm.
  • Inter CAs looking for employment or those who have completed articleship.
