Public Relations Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public relations, media, and communications.

  • Assist in the development and execution of PR campaigns and strategies, ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, and media content that accurately reflects the company's brand and messaging.
  • Coordinate with media outlets, journalists, and influencers for coverage, building and maintaining relationships through exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare PR activity reports, providing valuable insights to inform future strategies.
  • Support event planning, press conferences, and promotional activities, ensuring seamless execution and maximum impact.
  • Maintain and update the media contact database, streamlining communication and collaboration efforts.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications, aligning with company values and messaging.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, HR, leadership) for PR alignment, fostering a cohesive and strategic approach.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Public Relations Coordinator, you will need:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • A good understanding of public relations, media, and communications, including familiarity with industry trends and best practices.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals, leveraging your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms, allowing efficient management of multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and creativity in messaging, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

Good to Have

While not required, prior experience in corporate communications, PR agency, or media relations can be beneficial in this role. Familiarity with digital PR tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, Hootsuite) and basic knowledge of content creation and graphic design tools can also enhance your application.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field is preferred, demonstrating a solid foundation in public relations principles and practices.
