Job Overview

The IT Support Specialist (Remote) will oversee IT infrastructure, provide remote assistance for employees' hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and maintain secure access to our systems. This role demands strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless IT operations for a fast-growing, globally distributed organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Remote IT Support & Troubleshooting
  • Solve employee hardware, software, and connectivity issues remotely.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including provisioning laptops, accounts, and tools.
  • Maintain documentation for IT support procedures.
  • Systems Administration
  • Manage user accounts and permissions across tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Zoom, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Monitor system access and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support VPN, endpoint security, and multi-factor authentication setup.
  • Network & Security Management
  • Implement IT security best practices to protect sensitive data.
  • Perform regular audits of access controls, patches, and updates.
  • Respond to IT security incidents and escalate as needed.
  • Process Improvement & Global Collaboration
  • Suggest and implement improvements in IT processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support remote deployments and field devices when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or similar experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
  • Experience with Google Workspace / Office 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, endpoint protection, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across time zones.
