Senior Irrigation Infrastructure Designer

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the design and analysis of irrigation infrastructure such as dams, barrages, micro-irrigation systems, canal networks, and related hydraulic structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, specifically in hydraulics and water resources engineering.

This role is for 6 months.

Key responsibilities, qualifications, and skills:

  • Hydraulic Design
    • Design hydraulic structures such as dams, barrages, weirs, spillways, and intake systems using standard engineering codes and software.
    • Develop micro-irrigation system layouts, pipe network designs, and hydraulic profiles for efficient water distribution.
    • Prepare hydraulic modelling, flow calculations, and hydraulic grade line diagrams for irrigation and water management projects.
  • Project Management
    • Develop detailed drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent design tools.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including survey, GIS, and geotechnical teams for integrated designs.
    • Support the preparation of DPRs (Detailed Project Reports)
  • Communication
    • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and review discussions with stakeholders.
    • Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, irrigation techniques, flow analysis, and pipe hydraulics.
    • Familiarity with WRD, CWC, Govt Guidelines, and state irrigation department practices.

Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, with specialization in Hydraulics or Water Resources Engineering required. Minimum 5 years of experience in the field.
