Site Reliability Engineering Lead

The primary objective of this role is to lead a high-performing team, fostering operational excellence and driving strategic alignment with the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide visionary leadership and management to a remote team of Site Reliability Engineers, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and objectives.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including incident management, technical support, and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring seamless execution and timely issue resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex technical issues, collaborating with senior leadership, Quality Assurance, and Product teams as needed to drive resolutions and optimize business outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop team members, empowering growth in technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer engagement, resulting in increased job satisfaction and reduced turnover.
  • Drive initiatives to improve operational processes, tools, and workflows, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and scalability, to enhance overall business performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs, prioritize feature development, and align product roadmaps with business goals, ensuring market competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster open communication, transparency, and trust among team members, promoting a positive work environment and encouraging employee feedback and suggestions.
  • Analyze key performance metrics, provide actionable insights, and make data-driven recommendations to inform business decisions and drive growth.
Requirements:
  • 6+ Years of experience managing technical teams, preferably in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field, with a proven track record of success and leadership.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud computing, infrastructure management, and automation tools, particularly with AWS and Linux-based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in distributed environments, leveraging effective communication and collaboration strategies to drive results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, promoting cross-functional understanding and alignment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis, long-term solutions, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines, with experience in implementing and optimizing these technologies to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Knowledge of incident management practices and tools, as well as ticketing systems, with experience in resolving complex technical issues and reducing mean time to recovery (MTTR).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative science field, or equivalent work experience, with a strong foundation in computer systems, software engineering, and IT service management principles.
