Lead Risk Analyst

Job Description:

As a Lead Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in reviewing mortgage files submitted to the Underwriting team. This position requires calculating income, analyzing debt and assets, as well as completing an in-depth review of the completed appraisal and title.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing a thorough and in-depth review of mortgage loan files including income, assets, credit, and collateral
  • Utilizing the loan operating system to ensure accurate data entry
  • Underwriting loans in accordance with guidelines, utilizing Automated Underwriting Systems or manual guidelines
  • Evaluating and ensuring overall loan documents are accurate, complete, and compliant
  • Identifying and/or clearing red flags or alerts
  • Issuing loan decisions and condition files accordingly
  • Reviewing and approving conditions for compliance and completion of loan files
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients
  • Maintaining current knowledge of client and investor requirements
  • Resolving pre and post-closing issues as they relate to underwriting
  • Assisting Processors/Loan Officers in understanding underwriting decisions and conditions
