Capital Cost Estimator Position

This is a key role that involves preparing capital cost estimates by analyzing project requirements and market trends.

The successful candidate will advise clients on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements to ensure optimal results.

Drafting contract packages, including advice on amendments to standard forms, is an essential part of the job to protect client interests.

Pricing documents for tender packages must be prepared, considering factors such as material costs and labor expenses.

Providing expert advice on tendering procedures is crucial to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Drafting instructions to tenderers, outlining evaluation criteria and submission guidelines, is another vital task.

Tender evaluation criteria must be developed, focusing on key performance indicators and quality metrics.

PQQ questionnaires are to be drafted to assess bidder capabilities and experience.

Commercially evaluating all tender submissions, negotiating with tenderers to achieve the best outcomes, is a critical function of the role.

Amounts due to contractors for price variations must be accurately calculated.

Claim amounts are to be determined, following established processes and procedures.

Monthly Cost Reports are to be prepared and submitted, providing stakeholders with timely insights.

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, preferably with 5-10 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of QS and cost management processes, enabling effective quantification from drawings.
  • Chartered QS status under a recognized organization, such as RICS, SCSI, AIQS, or NZIQS.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and IT literacy, facilitating efficient data management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, essential for effective collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure.
  • Able to coordinate with staff and departments across global offices located in the US.
  • An organized self-starter, attentive to detail, and capable of working independently.
