About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Grid Automation Business Development Lead to join our team at Hitachi Energy. As a key member of our sales organization, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and revenue expansion.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across our grid automation portfolio. You will lead pre-sales initiatives, engage with customers early in the sales process, and collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth and revenue expansion.
  • Pipeline build up month on month across Portfolio have healthy mix at Each Zonel/ Individual Sales Reps/ Territory level @1:4 (qualified pipeline should be 4 times of budget). Reviewed on fortnightly basis and Course correction action
  • Nurture relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and challenges, and positioning our solutions effectively in the market.
  • Deliver compelling demonstrations and presentations that showcase our solutions' value and benefits.
  • Engage with customers early to generate leads and drive interest in our offerings.
  • Lead and mentor the pre-sales team to ensure alignment with business objectives and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and unique value propositions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the sales process on SCADA/DMS/ADMS/EMS Offerings, answering customer inquiries and overcoming objections.
  • Conduct thorough competitive analysis to position our offerings effectively in the market.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality proposals and bids, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and requirements.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's / master's degree in engineering preferred with 12+ years of relevant work experience in Business Development, Sales, pre-sales, engineering, or a related role within the energy or automation industry.
  • Strong understanding of grid automation technologies, products, and solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
