Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students' communication abilities using standardised tests and informal assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support integrated student development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting therapy plans as needed.
  • Assist in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools when appropriate.
  • Educate and train staff and caregivers on communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Participate in case conferences, professional development activities, and maintain detailed records.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • Experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities preferred.
  • Able to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and assistive aids, devices.
  • Patient, empathetic, and strong interpersonal skills.
