Senior Facilities Design Specialist

Description:

This role involves working on the design and planning of physical infrastructure and systems for data centers and facilities. The ideal candidate should have a moderate level of experience in facilities design and planning, as well as data center infrastructure.

The job requires the ability to assess current and future capacity needs, choose appropriate equipment and systems, and implement energy-efficient design principles. The specialist will also ensure that the data center or facility design complies with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Balancing design requirements with cost considerations is crucial in this role. The specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and architects, to ensure seamless integration of data center systems.

Detailed design documentation, including architectural drawings, specifications, and equipment lists, will be created by the specialist. Identifying and mitigating potential risks related to the data center or facility design is also an essential part of this role.

The ideal candidate should have developing proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools. They should also have a good understanding of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data center design and management.
