Job Title: Senior Facilities Engineer Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Facilities Engineer Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure design and planning group, you will be responsible for supporting the design and planning of physical infrastructure and systems for data centers and facilities.



Responsibilities:

  • Design and layout of data center/facilities, including server rooms, cooling systems, power distribution, fire suppression, and security systems.

  • Assess current and future capacity needs to ensure data center/facilities can accommodate growth of IT equipment and infrastructure.

  • Select appropriate equipment and systems for power, cooling, and environmental control, ensuring they meet efficiency, redundancy, and scalability requirements.

  • Implement energy-efficient design principles and technologies to reduce power consumption and environmental impact.

  • Design systems with redundancy to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.

  • Ensure data center/facilities design complies with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.

  • Balances design requirements with cost considerations, including capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenditures (OpEx).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and architects, to ensure seamless integration of data center systems.

  • Create detailed design documentation, including architectural drawings, specifications, and equipment lists.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to data center/facilities design, such as power interruptions, cooling failures, or security vulnerabilities.


Requirements:

  • Moderate level of experience in facilities design and planning.

  • Moderate level of experience of data center infrastructure, power and cooling systems, and IT equipment.

  • Moderate level of experience working in facilities environments or other technically sophisticated project types.

  • Moderate level of experience with new construction, tenant improvements and capital improvement projects.

  • Moderate level of experience working acumen with CSA and MEP systems development.
