Senior Accountant Job Description

As a seasoned accounting professional, you will oversee daily financial activities, ensure timely reporting, and maintain compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Support the finance team and internal departments with complex accounting matters.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform ad-hoc finance-related duties.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day financial operations, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.

  • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices to time sheets used for billing customers.
Accounting & Bookkeeping:

Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST returns, TDS/TCS, and Professional Tax (PT) returns.

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
Financial Reporting & Budgeting:

Develop monthly budgets in coordination with business requirements.

  • Focus analytics on cost structure within divisions to ensure controllable costs are being managed optimally and within budgets.
Banking & Treasury:

Reconcile bank accounts and manage banking transactions.

  • Process payroll disbursements, vendor payments, and statutory dues.
Additional Responsibilities:

Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and statutory authorities.

  • Drive process improvements and enhance internal financial controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in Zoho Books, Microsoft Navision, and Zoho Payroll.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Analytical thinking and high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance).
  • Prior experience in mid-to-large organizations or a CA firm.
