Highway Design Leader

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with UK and global stakeholders, contributing to the delivery of transformative infrastructure projects.

We are seeking a Highway Design Leader to drive excellence in highways/roads design and engineering. The successful candidate will lead technical projects, manage high-performing teams, and deliver innovative solutions that meet the highest industry standards.

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a team of engineers and technicians for highways/roads design projects.
  • Oversee technical deliverables to ensure compliance with UK standards (DMRB, MCHW, BS codes).
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support for road alignments, junctions, public-realm, and active travel designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and India for seamless project execution.
  • Contribute to bids, business development, and client relationship management.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth.

Key Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of UK highways standards (DMRB, MCHW) and road design software (Open Roads, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large-scale highway projects.
  • Excellent communication and client-handling skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
  • Proficient in project and resource management, technical governance, and process improvement.
  • Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE, CIHT) is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in highways/roads design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
