Key Role: Hardware Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Manager to lead the development of high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective hardware solutions for our air conditioning products.

  • This role requires strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise in electronic hardware design, and proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for hardware design, ensuring alignment with business goals and market requirements.
  • Design and review PCBs, BOMs, and other hardware components, ensuring compliance with EMI/EMC standards and thermal management principles.
  • Collaborate with firmware teams to define hardware-software interfaces, including ADC/DAC ranges, digital IO behavior, and communication protocols.

Technical Expertise:

  1. Familiarity with power electronics, schematic capture tools, PCB design tools, and hardware simulation software.
  2. Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM/DFT principles, and supplier qualification.
  3. Ability to mitigate design risks through FMEA, simulations, and rigorous testing.

Design Verification & Validation Report's:

  • Functional test reports for control boards, inverter boards, and sensor interfaces.
  • EMI/EMC compliance test reports in accordance with HVAC and regional standards.
  • Thermal performance and reliability test documentation.

Cost Optimization & Component Strategy / Manufacturing & Quality Readiness:

  • Component cost-reduction proposals without compromising performance or reliability.
  • Approved list of alternate components for high-risk/long lead-time parts.
  • Standardization plan for components across product families to reduce procurement complexity.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance:

  • Compliance with HVAC safety standards (e.g., IEC 60335, UL 60335, IS standards for India).
  • Documentation and approvals for electrical safety, energy efficiency, and environmental requirements (RoHS/REACH).

Cross-Functional & Customer Deliverables / Team Development & Process Improvements:

  • Regular hardware progress updates to program management and product teams.
  • Hardware support for field trials and customer evaluations.
