About the Role

Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled Project Procurement Manager to join our team in Pune, India. As a key member of our global sourcing team, you will be responsible for coordinating with strategic sourcing teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company policies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide supplier recommendations and sourcing strategies to support Siemens Energy's value proposition and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Expedite supplier quotes in time for proposal submittal to clients.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best possible quotes, including pricing, delivery, and strategic partnership.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supplier contacts, capabilities, and capacities.
  • Participate in sourcing boards and provide inputs from a Casting / Forging / Machining supplier standpoint.
  • Prepare proforma contracts during the award stage for fast processing of POs to suppliers.
  • Attend kick-off meetings with buyers to ensure smooth transfer of supplier information.
  • Obtain and share market intelligence from the supply base and feed it to CS/Sales.
  • Maintain supplier relationships to ensure collaboration on future opportunities.
  • Initiate project-specific supplier qualifications for new suppliers in collaboration with the Global Commodity Manager.
  • Provide inputs to Commodity Management during the Supplier Evaluation Process.
  • Share best practices and issues learned with relevant suppliers with Proposal Engineers for risk assessment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production engineering field with minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in project procurement with Casting / Forging / Machining in a global environment.
  • Knowledge of sourcing processes, Low Cost Country Sourcing experience, and Cost modeling in a global environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, Long Term Contract experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management, communication, and relationship-building ability.
  • Foreign Language Skills are a plus with Data Analysis and Organizational Change experience.
