Job Title:

Data Engineering Specialist

The Data Engineering Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions to migrate data seamlessly across platforms in an automated manner. This includes planning, executing, and validating online and offline data migration strategies for enterprise-scale databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database migration solutions using indigenous scripts and proprietary tools like Microsoft Smart Bulk Copy, CosmosDB Data Migration Tool, and DMS.
  • Develop and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions for migrated databases in AWS and Azure.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers and peers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Ensure data handling practices comply with industry standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of data security and privacy.
  • Collaborate with clients, data engineers, data scientists, AI researchers, and software engineers to achieve data migration goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data engineering, AI, and machine learning technologies to improve client data landscapes and capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in multiple databases in an enterprise setting, preferably on Azure and AWS.
  • Experience in migrating databases from on-prem to cloud platforms or across cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on exposure to AWS RDS, AWS DynamoDB, Azure SQL Server, and Azure CosmosDB.
  • Configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions for databases.
  • Working knowledge of modern data architecture and platforms, including Azure Blob Storage and AWS S3.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL language and proficiency with Python for data validation and analysis.
