Database Migration Lead

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Lead to oversee the end-to-end migration lifecycle of our Oracle databases across various platforms, ensuring seamless delivery and minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud environments, with strong hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) administration, migration, and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration process from assessment to post-migration optimization, ensuring successful execution and validation.
  • Define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices for zero/near-zero downtime and high availability/disaster recovery.
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS cloud setups, Azure-to-Azure cloud setups, Oracle Exadata, and Exadata Cloud@Customer environments.
  • Perform end-to-end database backup and recovery using Rubrik and RMAN, with a focus on near-zero downtime migration.
  • Implement data synchronization strategies and use Oracle Enterprise Manager for database performance monitoring, health checks, and proactive alerting.
Required Skills:
  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management.
  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication and familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for infrastructure as code-based DB provisioning.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
