Key Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking protocols, cloud services (primarily AWS) to design and implement strategies for large-scale Oracle database migration and transfer from on-premises to AWS cloud environments.
  • Expertise in performance tuning to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable database migration solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Database Migration and Transfer: Design and implement strategies for large-scale Oracle database migration and transfer from on-premises to AWS cloud environments.
  • Oracle Database Administration: Experience required in administering Oracle databases.
  • Data Formats, Volumes, and Velocity: Address challenges related to data formats, volumes, and velocity.
  • AWS Cloud Services: Leverage AWS services like RDS, EC2, DMS, DataPump, transportable tablespace, RMAN, S3 and others to enable efficient database migration.
  • Design Scalable and Cost-Effective Solutions: Design scalable and cost-effective solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure robust IAM roles, security groups, and compliance standards in AWS environments.
  • Networking: Architect and configure networks to ensure optimal database transfer performance.
  • Network Configurations: Implement secure and reliable network configurations for hybrid and multi-cloud setups.
  • Bandwidth and Connectivity: Optimize bandwidth and connectivity solutions for high-throughput data pipelines.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform performance tuning of database migration and transfer workflows, ensuring low-latency and high-throughput for large datasets.
  • Cloud Resource Utilization: Analyze and optimize cloud resource utilization to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement performance monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting processes for database migration pipelines.
  • Bottlenecks Identification and Resolution: Identify and address bottlenecks in data transfer, network throughput, and AWS services.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and technical requirements.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and guide teams on best practices for cloud database migration, networking, performance tuning, and DevOps.
