Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Migration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking protocols, cloud services (primarily AWS), and database migration strategies.

  • The Database Migration Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and efficient database migration solutions using AWS best practices.
  • They will ensure robust IAM roles, security groups, and compliance standards in AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement large-scale Oracle database migration and transfer from on-premises to AWS cloud environments.
  2. Experience in Oracle Database administration is required.
  3. Address challenges related to data formats, volumes, and velocity.
  4. Implement secure and reliable network configurations for hybrid and multi-cloud setups.
  5. Optimize bandwidth and connectivity solutions for high-throughput data pipelines.
  6. Perform performance tuning of database migration and transfer workflows, ensuring low-latency and high-throughput for large datasets.
  7. Analyze and optimize cloud resource utilization to improve performance and reduce costs.
  8. Implement performance monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting processes for database migration pipelines.
  9. Identify and address bottlenecks in data transfer, network throughput, and AWS services.
  10. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and technical requirements.
  11. Mentor and guide teams on best practices for cloud database migration, networking, performance tuning, and DevOps.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Database Migration and Transfer: Experience in designing and implementing large-scale Oracle database migration and transfer from on-premises to AWS cloud environments.
  • Cloud Services: Proficiency in AWS services like RDS, EC2, DMS, DataPump, transportable tablespace, RMAN, S3, and others.
  • Networking: Knowledge of networking protocols and ability to architect and configure networks to ensure optimal database transfer performance.
  • Performance Tuning: Ability to perform performance tuning of database migration and transfer workflows, ensuring low-latency and high-throughput for large datasets.
  • DevOps: Understanding of DevOps principles and experience in implementing performance monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting processes for database migration pipelines.
