Job Opportunity:

Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Designer

Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled MEP designer to join our in-house design team. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for developing accurate MEP layout drawings using Autodesk Revit, collaborating with architectural and structural teams for clash detection and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed MEP layout drawings utilising Autodesk Revit software, encompassing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and low-voltage systems.
  2. Collaborate effectively with architectural and structural teams for thorough clash detection and coordination purposes.
  3. Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for MEP services aligned with design and execution requirements.
  4. Provide technical documentation support for tendering, budgeting, and vendor alignment processes.
  5. Reconcile and update models and drawings based on feedback and site conditions.
  6. Organise regular coordination meetings with vendors and consultants to ensure design intent is maintained during execution phases.
  7. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and assist procurement processes by furnishing detailed schedules.
  8. Perform site visits if required for design validation and MEP inspections.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.
  2. 4–5 years of relevant hands-on experience with Revit MEP in commercial/office space projects.
  3. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for Building Information Modelling (BIM) coordination.
  4. Strong comprehension of HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
  5. Experience in preparing BOQs and technical documentation for tendering purposes.
  6. Excellent knowledge of building services codes and industry standards.
  7. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
