Product Merchandiser

Our ideal candidate will oversee the coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery. This role involves ensuring process enhancements, performance monitoring, and team coordination to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories for product development.

  • Coordinate with Production Manager to develop samples including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality.

  • Review and approve samples to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop yearly and monthly production plans based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times.

  • Plan and allocate resources, including materials and labor.

  • Ensure materials and resources are available for production, monitor production progress, and proactively address any issues or delays to meet delivery deadlines.

Vendor Management:

  • Identify and select suppliers and manufacturers.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors.

  • Ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of fabric and trims.

Costing and Budgeting:

  • Prepare cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead.

  • Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure production costs stay within budget.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Quality Control:

  • Establish quality standards and guidelines for production.

  • Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production.

  • Work with production team to implement corrective actions.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.

  • Ensure timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays.

  • Manage stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in textile engineering, fashion merchandising, or related field preferred.

  • More than 5 years of experience in product merchandising.

  • Knowledge of textile and garment manufacturing processes.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
