Business Intelligence Director

We are seeking a seasoned Business Intelligence Director to lead our data initiatives with strategic vision and hands-on leadership. This role will involve defining delivery excellence, ensuring governance, and mentoring teams to build scalable, high-quality solutions that drive business intelligence and analytics to the next level.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics projects from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Delivery on time, within budget, and of the highest quality as the primary escalation point for project risks and stakeholder concerns.
Project Quality & Governance:
  • Implementation of best practices, standards, and quality frameworks across BI, DWH, and Data Science initiatives.
  • Ensuring scalability, security, and governance compliance in all solutions, aligned with organizational policies.
  • Driving process improvement, governance maturity, and innovation in delivery methodologies.
Leadership & Mentoring:
  • Leading cross-functional teams including data engineers, BI developers, data science professionals, and project managers.
  • Providing technical guidance across BI, DWH, and Data Science domains.
  • Fostering accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence in the team.
Business & Stakeholder Management:
  • Partnering with business leaders to understand needs and translating them into actionable BI, DWH, and DS solutions.
  • Driving stakeholder alignment and ensuring measurable business outcomes from projects.
  • Presenting insights, project outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear narrative.
Technology & Innovation:
  • Aiding the adoption of modern BI platforms, cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery), and data science models.
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and DS methodologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and analytical capabilities.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of experience, with at least 15 years in leading Data Warehousing, BI, and Analytics delivery.
  • Expertise in end-to-end delivery of large-scale BI, DWH, Data Analytics, and preferably DS projects.
  • Governance & Quality: Deep understanding of project governance, quality frameworks, and compliance protocols.
  • Technical Depth: Strong data modelling, ETL/ELT, BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), and familiarity with cloud ecosystems; fluency in DS tools, modelling, and predictive analytics.
  • Leadership & Influence: Expert in team leadership, mentoring, stakeholder management, and executive communication.
  • Innovation-Oriented: Proactive in adopting modern BI, Cloud DWH, and DS technologies and cultivating self-service analytics across teams.
