Role Overview:

As a seasoned import operations expert, you will oversee the effective management of our import ocean freight operations. Your strong understanding of international trade practices and customs regulations will ensure seamless clearance and delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage FCL, LCL, and consolidation import operations to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Develop strategic pricing plans, negotiate rates with carriers, and maintain excellent relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders, and overseas agents.
  • Ensure timely cargo clearance by coordinating pre-alerts, booking coordination, documentation, customs compliance, and end-to-end shipment handling.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate smooth cargo clearance and delivery processes.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, promptly resolving issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Monitor departmental performance, control costs, and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time through SOP development and implementation.
  • Manage and mentor the import operations team to allocate resources effectively, set KPIs, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven expertise in international import practices, customs clearance procedures, documentation, and INCOTERMS.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
