Freight Forwarding Operations Manager

Job Overview:

A Freight Forwarding Operations Manager oversees the operational functions of both Imports and Exports departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of cargo to customers. This role demands strong leadership and people management skills to motivate and manage teams effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate operations for Imports and Exports departments, monitoring workflows and managing resources to ensure efficient processes.
  • Ensure speedy delivery of cargo to customers, adhering to all relevant regulations.
  • Supervise shift managers and their teams, regularly reviewing KPIs to guarantee quality, timelines, and communication expectations are met.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency or data integrity issues, proposing improvements and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with service providers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Set goals and objectives for the team in accordance with company guidelines and key performance indicators.
  • Utilize established indicators and tools appropriately to ensure accounting matters are finalized on time.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with freight forwarding procedures and financials (TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS).
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (Commerce, International Trade, Logistics preferred).
  • 5+ years of industry-related experience, with a preference for freight forwarding.
  • 2+ years of team management experience, including managing team leads or shift managers.
  • Leadership and people management skills, with strong attention to detail, data integrity, and customer service mindset.

Key Performance Indicators:

The successful Freight Forwarding Operations Manager will be responsible for delivering regular feedback, training, and development sessions to build operational thinking and ownership mindset in the team.
