Urban Water Supply Specialist

Job Description:

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of urban water supply projects.
  • Develop and oversee strategies for reducing non-revenue water (NRW) and improving water loss management.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and network design using WaterGEMS or similar software.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, feasibility studies, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with national and international standards for water supply infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, urban planners, and engineering teams to integrate water supply solutions into broader urban development plans.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity building to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Engage with community groups and local authorities to ensure inclusive and sustainable project outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Environmental Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in urban water supply projects.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing water supply systems, including NRW reduction programs.
  • Proficiency in WaterGEMS or similar hydraulic modeling software.
  • Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of water quality standards, distribution systems, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
