Job Title: Piping Technician

This role involves working as a Cadworx technician or designer, carrying out 3D modeling and 2D work using various modules and tools in the Cadworx application.

  • To be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The ideal candidate will help in performing the 3D modeling work on various projects and delivering the plant 3D model and GA drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize and work efficiently in Cadworx.
  • Have knowledge of piping design and piping study for tanks, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, compressors, air coolers.
  • Carry out GA extraction, dimensioning, and annotation modeling of various types of equipment.
  • Model civil structural and pipe supports.
  • Participate in 3D model review sessions when required.
  • Review PIDs, PFDs, vendor drawings, and instrument details and utilize this information in 3D modeling.
  • Prepare and check equipment as well as nozzle orientation.
  • Prepare plot plans and equipment layouts.
  • Prepare piping general arrangement and support drawings.
  • Prepare MTO for piping items.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and utilize the information in building the 3D model.
  • Check drawings from other disciplines and provide comments as IDC process (Interdisciplinary Drawing Check).
  • Provide civil information when required.
  • Prepare piping layout and other drawings in 2D.
  • Ability to work in flexible hours, occasionally more than working hours per week to meet client deadlines.

Candidate Specification:

  • Able to carry out GA drawing extraction, dimensioning, and annotation.
  • Knowledge of plant layout, piping GA, nozzle orientation, bill of material, and isometrics.
  • Well conversant with all piping design aspects and working piping discipline.
  • Understanding of all piping components and valves including respective standards and dimensional details.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D for preparing 2D drawings.
  • Knowledge and working experience in Plant3D, Aveva E3D, Revit, SP3D will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, power plant, or other process industries.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written communications skills in English.
Requisite Qualification:

Diploma or certified technician from ITI is preferred. Certification course on 3D modeling also would be an added advantage.
