Ambitious Academic Leader

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a visionary leader to define the medium and long-term academic direction for our School of Government.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, enabling an environment where students can learn, thrive, and become leaders and innovators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans to align institutional processes with vision and mission.
  • Design high-quality curriculum with a global perspective.
  • Lead social initiatives, including youth empowerment programs and community engagement projects.
  • Plan manpower needs, recruit faculty, and focus on continuous faculty development programs.
  • Engage with the society at large, develop curriculum, and participate in university activities.
  • Track legislative and policy issues, collect data, and develop strategies for informed decision-making.

  • Creative, strategic, and pragmatic leadership with high emotional intelligence.
  • Resilience, strength of character, and a 'can-do' attitude to manage complex portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating stakeholders, developing relationships, and driving processes successfully.
  • Excellent communication skills, including persuasive presentations and written reports.
  • Experience managing complex projects, including priority setting, planning, budgeting, and performance review.
  • Strong experience engaging with government officials and multilateral organizations.
  • A proven record as a team player with high emotional intelligence.
  • Confident, outgoing, and intellectually capable of operating effectively at a senior level.
  • Energetic and resilient with political acumen and ability to form positive relations.
  • IT and digital relationship database literate.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Qualification & Experience:

  • PhD in Political Science/Public Policy/Law.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in academic leadership.
  • Age less than 50 years as on the date of appointment.
