Job Title: Senior Debt Recovery Specialist

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned debt recovery specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in driving revenue growth through effective collection of outstanding payments from customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Debt Collection: Achieve high levels of collection success through proactive communication with customers, identifying opportunities to recover outstanding debts and negotiating repayment plans that benefit both parties.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions, including payment arrangements, status updates, and escalations.
  • Customer Communication: Handle inbound customer inquiries regarding overdue payments, account status, and available repayment options with empathy and professionalism.
  • Educate Customers: Inform customers about the consequences of non-payment, including interest rates, penalties, and potential impacts on their credit score.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that all debt recovery practices comply with banking policies, local laws, and industry regulations, protecting sensitive customer data and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Target Achievement: Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly collection targets set by the department or bank, tracking personal performance metrics, including call volume, payment recovery rates, and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, law).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in debt recovery, collections, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of achievement in collections, with a strong understanding of banking policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and senior authorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve collection success.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and other software tools used in debt recovery.
