  • We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Development Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe development, with a strong background in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS.
  • Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-level software architecture designs, ensuring scalability, performance, and integration with enterprise systems.
  • They will also be expected to develop and maintain back-end components such as APIs, batch jobs, and transaction processing systems.
  • Optimizing application performance and introducing new technologies/methodologies to improve efficiency is also an essential part of the role.
  • The successful candidate will ensure robust security practices, including data encryption, anonymization, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • They will also monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Staying updated with emerging mainframe technologies and industry trends to recommend continuous improvements is crucial.

Requirements :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
  • Advanced certifications in Mainframe Technologies (preferred).
  • 6+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in mainframe development is necessary.
  • Practical expertise in two programming languages or advanced proficiency in at least one (COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS) is required.

    • COBOL : Development and maintenance of batch and online applications.
    • JCL (Job Control Language) : Job scheduling, batch processing, and automation.
    • DB2
    • IMS DB / IMS DC : Transaction and database management.
    • VSAM : File handling and dataset management.
    • Strong understanding of mainframe operating environments and systems integration.
  • Preferred :
    • Experience with test-driven development, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
    • Familiarity with APIs, microservices, and modern integration techniques.
    • Exposure to application security practices in mainframe environments.
