Research Opportunities

We are seeking highly skilled researchers to contribute to the advancement of large language models in physics and analytical backgrounds. Your work will be instrumental in fine-tuning and evaluating these models, ultimately enhancing their ability to solve complex physics problems.

As a researcher, you may be tasked with:

  • Determining the maximum radial distance an electron reaches from a cylindrical conductor's axis due to the magnetic field generated by the current.
  • Certain materials have high-energy pions traveling through them, losing energy at a constant rate. Given their rest mass and proper lifetime, calculate the probability that it decays within a certain distance from its origin.

These tasks aim to identify model weaknesses and improve training and evaluation workflows.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

  • Strong academic background in Physics, Applied Physics, or related fields.
  • Advanced analytical skills to solve complex physics problems with clear reasoning.
  • Effective communication skills to explain complex topics and provide precise feedback.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote research environment and participate actively in team discussions.
  • Access to a reliable computer and internet setup for remote assignments.

Please note that only candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a PhD will be considered.

Engagement Details

Successful candidates will be required to commit:

  • A minimum of 20 hours per week, with at least 4 hours overlapping with PST time.
  • a duration of one month, with three options for time commitment: 20 hrs/week, 30 hrs/week, or 40 hrs/week.
  • a task-based assessment followed by a contract offer with defined timelines and workload.
