Job Description

Sophisticated Database Administrator Role

  • An experienced Senior DBA with expertise in database design, development, security, backup, recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting is required to lead our team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud and locally hosted databases, as well as experience in setup and maintenance of Test, Dev, Staging, and Production Environments.
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills are necessary for success in this role, which involves working closely with other IT teams and stakeholders.
  • This position requires the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to validate ideas and technologies.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for designing database backup and restoration strategies, creating linked servers to SQL Servers and other databases, and setting up high availability as part of disaster recovery strategy.
  • Maintenance of database integrity and continuous monitoring and performance tuning at physical server level, database level, and query tuning are also key responsibilities of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Database Administration: Advanced skills in database design, development, security, backup, recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Experience in leading junior DBAs, coordinating with other IT teams, and communicating with stakeholders and clients.
  • Cloud and On-Premise Databases: Strong understanding of cloud and locally hosted databases, including setup and maintenance of Test, Dev, Staging, and Production Environments.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Experience in setting up high availability as part of disaster recovery strategy, including failover clustering, database mirroring, log shipping, replication, and always on.
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Ability to maintain database integrity and perform continuous monitoring and performance tuning at physical server level, database level, and query tuning.
