Job Title: Technical Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Superintendent to lead our technical operations team. As a key member of the operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day technical activities and ensuring vessel seaworthiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily technical operations and ensure vessel seaworthiness.
  • Analyze performance/defects and ensure prompt & effective closures incl. observations raised during internal/external audits n inspections.
  • Monitor PMS compliance and authenticity. Propose database & system improvements.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets. Control operating costs including fuel, lubes, consumables etc.
  • Maintain validity of all certification & documentation. Liaise with classification societies & Flag authorities as necessary
  • Prepare vessels for oil major vetting/Rightship inspections and ensure readiness.
  • Implement efficiency improvements and monitor speed/cons performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IMS, with international regulations incl. ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS etc and all flag requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement of spares and critical equipment with most cost-effective options.
  • Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, technical projects including upgrades/retrofits and major maintenance. Prepare specifications, budgets, and timelines. Ensure quality control during repairs and maintain cost control.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to onboard crew.
  • Conduct periodic physical inspection of vessel for assessment of condition/crew/IMS.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Propose improvement in procedures n Manuals.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of TMSA & Right ship requirements and implementation (Tankers & Bulkers resp.).
  • Promote a strong safety culture on board and in technical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental protection measures and fuel efficiency initiatives.
