Design Engineering Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for addressing limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process. You will incorporate feedback into 3D model designs to enhance overall design quality. Your tasks include using software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for assigned project components, ensuring designs comply with industry standards, design specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design concepts to optimize performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during the production phase.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve the overall quality and reliability of designs.
  • Stay updated on advancements in CAD software and UAV technology to improve design capabilities and efficiency.
  • Prepare computational geometry for FEA/CFD analysis from CAD models.
  • Work with teams to ensure that designs meet all safety and performance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of CAD engineering with a focus on design principles.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, and NX.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within project deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
