Senior Data Center Construction Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Center Construction Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data center construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

The Senior Data Center Construction Manager will coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing all phases of data center construction projects, from design and permitting through to commissioning and handover.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Oversight of site activities, ensuring compliance with construction plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Management of relationships and negotiations with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Collaboration with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align project objectives and resolve issues.
  • Monitoring project performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Preparation and presentation of regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies on-site.
  • Leadership of teams of construction managers, engineers, and site supervisors, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Driving continuous improvement in construction processes and methodologies.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience managing large-scale data center or critical facility construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, and structural components.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942).
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
Preferred Skills

Candidates with the following skills will be given preference:

  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with sustainable construction and green building practices.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
