Technical Writer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to create high-quality user manuals and documentation for our model libraries and tools methodologies.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to author documents with XML codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and maintain User Manuals using DITA XML in Oxygen Author, adhering to Synopsys guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and design teams to gather inputs and review documents.
  • Ensure timely release of documents in line with product releases.
  • Verify document accuracy within tight deadlines.
  • Keep documents up-to-date with evolving customer requirements and technological advancements.
  • Track and coordinate with other technical writers for current/upcoming assignments.
  • Support Product development teams in reviewing and editing Internal Documentation.
  • Follow the Synopsys Style Guide for documentation conventions.

Requirements:

  • A positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with XML code and Python code for creating and maintaining doc contents.
  • Accountability for tasks assigned.
  • Good team player with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Mandatory Tools: DITA XML authoring, familiarity with XML code; Preferred Tools: VS Code, Adobe Acrobat, MS-Office, Screen Capturing tool, GitHub.

Mandatory Skills:

  • An optimistic attitude to learn and improve.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Document Development Life Cycle.
  • Ability to author docs with XML codes.
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of English, American English spellings.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in writing User Manuals/Technical Documents from EDA/semiconductor industry.
  • Expertise in GitHub processes.
