Job Title: Solid-State Battery Production Manager

About Qpivolta:

We are pioneering India's first solid-state battery production, boasting the country's first solid-state Lithium metal battery cell and a cutting-edge centre of excellence in Bangalore for experimenting with various chemistries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight:
  • Oversight of daily operations on the solid-state battery cell production line to enhance efficiency and yield,
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting issues related to electrode coating, cell assembly, and sealing processes,
  • Implementation of process improvements to elevate cell performance, lifespan, and overall production quality,
  • Continuous analysis of data from production lines to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Quality Control:
  • Establishment of strict quality control measures throughout the production process, including in-line inspections and final product testing,
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and specifications for solid-state batteries,
  • Analysis of quality data to address potential issues before impacting product performance.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Leadership and motivation of a team responsible for cell assembly,
  • Provision of training and development opportunities on new technologies and procedures related to solid-state battery production,
  • Fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • A deep understanding of solid-state battery technology, including principles of solid electrolytes, electrode materials, and cell assembly processes,
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques like roll-to-roll processing, laser cutting, and precision handling equipment,
  • Knowledge of electrochemical testing methods to evaluate cell performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Project Management:
  • Collaboration with R&D teams to implement new cell designs and technology advancements into production lines,
  • Management of project timelines and budgets related to production scale-up and process optimization,
  • Coordination with other departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing with a strong focus on cell assembly processes
  • Proven track record in managing production teams within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement solutions effectively
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends for continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team and collaborate with cross-functional departments
