The Livelihood and Disaster Response Specialist will lead initiatives in agriculture development, Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) formation, disaster response preparedness, and climate-smart program implementation. This role requires expertise in agricultural practices, disaster risk management, and government scheme implementation in rural communities.
\
Key Responsibilities include:
\
1. Facilitating the formation and strengthening of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in targeted village committees with clear targets defined.
\
2. Providing access to information and resources to keep FPOs up-to-date with the latest developments in agriculture and related fields.
\
3. Working closely with district agriculture officers to implement programs after concurrence with the DAO.
\
4. Developing climate-friendly methodologies for agriculture in villages and documenting impact with verifiable data.
\
5. Accessing government schemes, subsidies, and loans for FPOs with agreed targets for each year as part of networking initiatives.
\
6. Promoting PIP programs and ensuring outcomes are fulfilled with appropriate documentation.
\
7. Preparing committees practically in response to disasters by working closely with disaster risk management teams.
\
8. Helping committees develop resilience in adverse situations, including disasters, and developing task forces in villages to respond to probable disasters and mitigation plans.
\
9. Implementing climate-smart programs as part of this role.
\
