Job Title

A Network Support Specialist with expertise in computer networking is required to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network protocols and be able to troubleshoot complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on customer cases with full accountability on escalated issues raised by Tier 1 teams.
  • Investigate areas of misalignment or critical dead-ends and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Identify trends in support requests and suggest corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance product user experience and improve UI intuitiveness.
  • Perform lab recreates using internal tools as part of the troubleshooting process.
  • Support and mentor Tier 1 team members in complex troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Stay up-to-date on latest features and trending technologies, participating in team communication and staying informed about enterprise and networking trends.
  • Work closely with Customer Engineering and Software/Hardware development teams to diagnose problems and communicate solutions in multiple technical contexts.
  • Analyze packet captures using Wireshark/tcpdump to resolve sophisticated networking issues on customers' devices.
  • Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of network industry products and protocols.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, OSI model, IP Addressing, DHCP, DNS, POE, ICMP, IPv4 & IPv6, IEEE 802.1Q trunking, Wireless LAN Fundamentals, VPN, NAT/PAT, etc.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting complex customer environments.
  • Ability to balance communications needs for each customer case.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to triage issues.
  • High aptitude for learning and teaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clear articulation of matters to customers.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Multitasking and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • At least 1 year of experience in computer networking-related problem-solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science/IT preferred but not mandatory.
  • Networking certifications are beneficial.
