  • To take on a key role within the Rail MEP services sector, providing leadership and technical expertise to drive project success.
  • Manage projects (or components of projects) meeting technical requirements, budgetary targets, quality standards, and timeframe expectations.
  • Proactively promote brand building for our organization in India, enhancing the recruitment process.
  • Actively participate in the GEC professional group and contribute to seminars and conferences externally.
  • Build strong networks within the Rail building services industry.
  • Effectively manage selected projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing analysis and design production, ensuring overall design integrity, quality assurance, and client feedback.
  • Provide input to the GEC sector strategy/business plans, contributing towards their achievement.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure understanding and engagement with sector/discipline business plans.
  • Liaise with Project Managers or Directors and clients to stay informed about project developments, changes, and modifications.
  • Identify opportunities and implement standardization strategies to enhance efficiencies at GEC.
  • Lead by example, providing direction and technical advice to project team members, developing them to their full potential, and championing a quality, innovative culture.
  • Ensure familiarity with relevant H & S and CDM regulations, promoting awareness within the team.
  • Train and develop team members' technical capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification from IET / CIBSE / IMechE.
  • 15-20 years of experience in designing Mechanical Building services (HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting), preferably in UK/Rail projects.
  • Solid domain knowledge in the UK Building service industry.
  • Proven design experience across concept, preliminary, detailed, and construction phases.
  • Ability to review and check technical specifications, design basis reports, etc.
  • Good appreciation of health, safety, and CDM aspects related to typical Rail systems projects.
  • Independent design review skills.
  • Familiarity with international codes, Network Rail, and London Underground standards and practices related to the UK Rail industry.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment, specifically in the Rail/Metro industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, good report writing, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Ability to think innovatively and entrepreneurially, with a good understanding of commercial aspects of a project.
  • Knowledge of code & standards and practices of Building services industry.
  • Good motivation, influencing, people management, and delegation skills.
