Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Plastics Operations Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Aggregation Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project teams, developing sales strategies, and building vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate with various companies and stakeholders to identify high-quality raw materials in loose or bale form (Polyolefins-HDPE and PP).
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for aggregation, segregation, QA, and QC of plastic waste (Polyolefins-HDPE and PP).
  • Oversee site-level production teams to ensure production meets planned targets.
  • Collaborate with partners to add value to feedstock - either washed flakes or granules.
  • Create a market for different items of Phugga (Polyolefins-HDPE and PP).
  • Manage factory compliance and profit & loss account.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma design process to optimize performance.
  • Identify and implement key projects and kaizens to increase productivity and hit targets.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Provide timely, concise, and accurate reports on daily, weekly, and monthly project progress.
  • Standardize machine inspection check sheets, pre-dispatch check sheets, and operation check sheets at site level.
General Requirements
  • Maintain professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritization of workload skills.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, SOPs, and protocols at all levels of the organization.
  • Promote strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.
  • Be willing to travel frequently across locations, sometimes at short notice.
  • Collaborate closely with the team and partners.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Plastics Engineering; an MBA would be an added advantage.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Operations.
  • Strong Sales/Customer relationship management skills, negotiation skills, vendor/stakeholder management skills, and excellent networking skills.
  • A good understanding of plastics and plastic recycling.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask, managing multiple projects while focusing the team and driving results.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission.
  • Fluency in English; Hindi would be an advantage.
