Electrical Harness Design Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical harnesses for automotive applications. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand the requirements and specifications of various vehicle systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing wiring harnesses using CAD software such as CAPH Xc and UGNx
  • Developing electrical logic diagrams and routing harnesses in 2D and 3D formats
  • Collaborating with electrical component and chassis design teams to ensure seamless integration of wiring harnesses
  • Communicating effectively with suppliers and vendors to meet efficiency, cost, weight, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements
  • Benchmarking and generating ideas for better performance, quality, cost, and weight

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in all tools for wiring harness design (CAPH Xc, Logic, and Simstress), layout, and CAD tools, preferably Unigraphics
  • Knowledge of child parts used in wiring harnesses, including wire, fuses, connectors, mechanical protections, and selection criteria
  • Knowledge of DFMEA and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Thorough understanding of basic theories and design concepts for automotive wiring harnesses
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations
  • Software skills: CAPH Xc, 3D modeling tool (UG NX preferred)
